i'm in love...

...with my tattoo guy.  because he did an amazing job on my pin up.  took about two and a half hours from start to finish.  didn't hurt too bad, just had a few involuntary twitches when the needle hit a nerve.  my shoulder actually bothered me more than the tattoo did.  stupid joint just kept getting stiff.  but it was worth it.  it turned out way better than i was expecting, and i love the colors.  it's still really fresh, and that's sorta obvious in the pics, but here are some close ups on some of the details, as well as an over all view of it.  also, i wish i had her boots in real life.

as a side note, some girl came in to get a normal ear piercing while i was there (her first one).  she kinda freaked out when she saw i was getting tattooed, she's screamed when she got the piercings done, and she wouldn't let the guy wash the piercing mark off after because she thought it would make it hurt even more.  n00b

anticipation

so i'm getting a new tattoo tomorrow, and i have the pre-tattoo jitters.   not in the sense that i'm nervous or scared about it, but more like an "OMG! OMG! OMG! LET'S GET THIS DONE! YAY!" kinda way.  i got the final picture today, and it's going to be awesome!  keep in mind that this is just the outline, it's going to be in color.  i'll be sure to post pics after it's done.  but until then, i'm just going to sit here and "squeeeeeee!" with excitement.

on to the next

so i finally got to have sex again this week, so yay for that.  like i've said before, i get kinda crazy when i'm not getting some on the regular.  i was supposed to wait a full freakin' month to let my piercing heal up all the way, but i pretty much just said "fuck you" to that and just waited the two weeks while i had to keep it clean.  but now that i'm getting laid again, my mind is slightly clearer so i can start trying to write more often again.  on to the next!

oh and i really do have a next, i wasn't totally making that up.  i finally have a date to get my pin up tattoo.  for anyone who is new or anyone with a bad memory, i'm getting a pirate pin up in the sailor jerry style, sitting on an anchor, on the back of my left calf.  went and talked to my guy about it today.  set a date for june 16.  should have some sketches to share by the end of next month.  super excited about it, and it's going to be right in the price range that i was expecting.  i would like to try to get one more tattoo done before the end of the year as well.  i've decided that i want to get a pair of swallows as a clavicle tattoo.  for those that aren't into anatomy, your clavicle is your collar bone.  plan on getting those in the old school style also, but i will probably draw those.  i can't draw people, but i can draw birds.  also wanting to soften the colors on them a bit.  normally, they're done in really bold primary colors.  i think i still want to use a nice royal blue as the top color, but will probably use a soft pink as the undertones to make it a bit more feminine.  i like the balance of old style tattoo meets cute girly tattoo.  

as for the reason why i'm trying to get a total of three tattoos this year, well i want to be able to enjoy them for as long as i can before my skin gets all old and wrinkly.  the good thing is that all of my tattoos so far are very easy to cover with clothing if i don't feel like showing them off.  if i wear converse, pants, and a t-shirt, no one would know i had any work done unless i told them.  eventually i want a wrist tattoo and perhaps one behind the ear, but i want to be a little more established into a career before i do that.  but i figure four will totally hold me over for a while.  or not.  like my boyfriend said, he only intended on ever getting one (he has fourteen as of right now).  well, the five more piercings i plan on getting might help also.  just don't tell my mom, she doesn't want to know.

happy birthday to me!

so i'm old today.  a whole twenty six years.  in order to make myself feel better about it, i bought myself two birthday gifts.  first off, the one i've been talking about for like the past month: my tattoo!  it's took a little over two hours and hurt like a bitch, but it was totally worth it. it's still a bit red and such, so the shading isn't as detailed as it will be once it heals, but here's a first picture of the final product:

there's still a lot of excess ink and such on my skin because i took this right after the wrap came off, so just kind of ignore that.  i'll post another pic in a few weeks once it heals up.  oh and for part two of my gifts to myself:

shoes!  just because i like shoes.  and they were cute.  so why the hell not.  i'm using the excuse that i needed new shoes to wear when i go out tonight, but it's mostly just because i like shoes and they look cute.  and i don't have any red shoes yet, so it works.  now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to take a nap before i drink the night away.  happy birthday to me!

sketch number two

so it's almost time.  only eleven days until i get me tattoo.  got the second sketch from shad today (you can see the first sketch here).  getting a lot closer now.  pretty happy with the overall body position.  only thing i asked him to change was the tail.  i want it to be loose, not against the body of the horse.  and really long and flowy.  but this is a good idea of what the overall positioning is going to be.  next he's going to do an outline of the water color pattern.  can't wait to see how that turns out.

first sketch

so i got some rough sketches from shad today.  doesn't really have much in way of the style of the tattoo, since he is making sure he gets the positioning right before he starts on that.  i'm liking the legs of the one on the right and the head position of the one on the left, and probably moving the back legs and rear end higher up to make a more dramatic angle.  i can't wait to get it done!  i'll post more pics as i get them, and of course there will be pic of the finished product.  so excited!  squeeeeeeee!

updates!

so yeah i fail at regular updates lately, so this post is just going to be one massive update.  first off, vegas was FUCKING AMAZING!!!!  in fact, we loved it so much that we are going back again in september.  the borderline alcoholic side of me loved that it is socially acceptable and even encouraged to walk down the street at 9:00 am with a yard long margarita.  i'm pretty sure i did enough drinking to last me until my birthday, which is good because i probably won't be able to drink until then anyway.  but i just have to say that the big girl side of vegas is just too much fun.  i did get a lot of free or almost free drinks by acting like i was going to gamble and then cashing out when i only spent like $0.50.  i finally got to see the fountains at belagio, the volcano at the mirage, and the new version of the treasure island pirate show.  the only time i got carded was if i was buying alcohol in a store, so apparently i'm old now.  there was an awesome fireworks show on new year's eve.  eight different hotels on the strip shot fireworks off their roofs.  i got to the point where i was swimming drunk, and if you don't know what i mean by that, it's probably a good thing. so that's my sweeping generalization of an awesome weekend.  as always, pics are here.  and no, i did not get married while i was there. 

as for other updates, i collected on my christmas gift from my guy and got the monroe piercing.   i'm super happy with how it turned out.  and honestly, the initial piercing didn't hurt at all.  because ed is amazing.  only reason that it's sore now is because i talk a lot at my job, so it's constantly moving.  i didn't tell my mom about it for like three days because i thought she would flip out, but despite herself she actually likes how it looks on me.  i can't wait until next month when i can take this stud out and pop a little fake diamond in there. 

more to look forward to next month: it's my birthday on the fourth.  which means i'll be even older.  to help myself cope with the emotional pain of getting old, i will be having physical pain inflicted upon my skin.  which means yes, i am finally getting a new tattoo.  this is my birthday gift to myself.  for the few people who don't already know, i will be getting a chinese style horse on my left rib cage, which is to be done by shad over at traditional tattoo.   had my consult appointment with him over the weekend, and i'm beyond stoked about getting it done.  don't worry, i will be posting plenty of pics.

so i think that catches you all up with the major updates.  oh except for this one: having a runny nose fucking sucks balls.  and not in the good way.

the name

just getting this out of the way now.  my foot tattoo has ten blue stars.  don't ask me why.  not about the stars part (that one's easy) but the ten part.  as for the stars, i wanted it for 8 years and was finally at a point in my life where it was appropriate to get my first tattoo.  i was for once in my life living entirely on my own.  i was not getting any money from my parents, and i had just kick out my long term boyfriend, so it was all me now.  it was something i did just for myself, to close one part of this adventure and start a new one.

as for the ten part, well that's just because ten stars fit on my foot.  i honestly didn't even know how many i had done until i sent my father a picture and he asked why ten.  i actually had to look down at my foot and count them at this point to know if he was right about the number.  he was.  i told this to the artist when i went back in for a touch up.  he suggested coming up with some bad ass reason, and then made up some story about how there are ten stds that can kill you.  i passed on using that story.  still haven't come up with anything good yet.

and that started my latest kick on body modification.  i actually have a check list of things i want to get done.  i still have a long way to go.  i have been clearing a few things off the list this year because i will get these really weird urges to go put another hole in myself (which is how i got my industrial).  i say its because i like the look of it.  my friend says its because i'm masochistic.  hmmmmm.....maybe.
